【摘要】:Thepurposeoftime-intensitymeasurementsistoestablishthepatternofdevelopmentanddeclineofaparticularsensorycharacteristicunderstudy.T-Ievaluationsareapplicablewhenmeasurementsatasingletimepoint(anaveragingprocess)arenotsufficienttodistinguishproductsthathaveverydifferenttemporalcharacteristics.AspointedoutbyLeeandPangborn(1)3,x201C;Thisaveragingprocessresultsinthemaskingorcompletelossofimportantinformationsuchasrateofonsetofstimulation,timeanddurationofmaximumintensity,rateofdecayofperceivedintensity,timeofextinction,andtotaldurationoftheentireprocess.x201D;Productsratedsimilarlyusingtraditionalsinglepointtechniquesofproductprofilingmayprovideverydifferenttemporalsensoryexperiencestotheconsumer.Acceptabilityoftheproductmaybeaffected,andtraditionaldescriptivemethodologydoesnotreflectthechangesinanattributersquo;intensityovertime.T-Ihasapplicationsforavarietyofproducts.Examplesinclude:foodproducts,rangingfromshort-termsweetnessinabeveragetolong-termelasticityinchewinggum;personalcareproducts,measuringthedevelopmentandlongevityofshampoolatherandtheresidualskinfeelofaskincream;householdcareproducts,monitoringtheintensityofscentsovertime;pharmaceuticals,monitoringskincoolingafterapplicationofatopicalanalgesic.AuditorysignalsorvisualchangesinproductscanalsobeevaluatedbytheT-Itechnique.1.1Thisguidecoversproceduresforconductingandanalyzingtime-intensity(T-I)evaluationsofproductsorothersensorystimuli.Time-intensityisthemeasurementoftheintensityofasinglesensorysensationovertimeinresponsetoasingleexposuretoaproductorothersensorystimulus.1.2Thisguideutilizesaspeciallytrainedpaneltomeasuretheintensityofasinglecontinuoussensationduringthetimefrominitialexposure:1.2.1Toitsextinction,1.2.2Toaspecifiedintensity,or1.2.3Toapredeterminedlimitoftime.1.3Applicationsnotcoveredinthisguideincludemeasuring:1.3.1Multiplesensations,1.3.2Multipleexposureswithinasinglemeasurement,and1.3.3Qualitativeorhedonicchangesintheperceivedsensation.1.4Thisguideincludesprotocolsfortheselectionandtrainingofjudges,descriptionsanduseofphysicaldatacollectiondevices,andmethodsofdatahandling,summarization,andstatisticalanalysis.Illustrationoftwodifferentdatahandlingandanalysisapproachesareincludedintheappendixes.1.5Thisguideisnotapplicabletomeasureproductshelflifeorstabilitythatrequireevaluationsatdiscretetimeintervals.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
